every day is a good day

This is a test of the email post function in write.as

Decided to watch this William Gibson classic again this morning. It's been a while but I've probably watched it 20-30 times. Although future looking at the time, some parts have come to pass, and some parts are an interesting reminder of where we are today – good or bad.

The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.

Last day before my holiday break

I decided to take public transit in to the office. Honestly though, it's usually my preference, driving in, traffic is stressful, parking is expensive, neither of which is the best way to start one's morning. The weather has been a lot warmer these last few days but I'm sure the cold is coming. Maybe we'll even get a little snow this year.

The trip into the office this morning was perfect. It seems most people have decided to stay home so the bus, Max, and walking around in downtown Portland was mostly unpopulated. Genuinely relaxing way to travel today, which was nice.

Work has been a lot this year. A lot. I do love what I do, mostly at least, but I really need this break. I have a number of things on my todo list for the time off but I'm also not super worried about getting them done. Just rest. A mental break will be so nice.

Driver pulls up to a stop and looks; fent-zombie won't be moving for quite some time. They close the doors and we drive off. Damn.

Think I may give this another go

May start using this platform as a 'collector' – when I see things that make up random notes, things to use in the future, or just sights that catch my attention, I'll plan to jot them down here.

lets see how that goes

Hello

Started this new instance to test out write.as. Another interesting take on blogging, it looks like it may be nice for writing random thoughts.

We'll see. It also uses Markdown, which I'm not a fan of.

(update: 2024-12-20. After a couple years of being a maintainer on the OpenSearch Project blog project-website repo wow have my views changed on Markdown.)
